Spring is here!?!?

I think it's safe to say, although in WI in March, you can never be too sure. But I'm ready for it! Went to my favorite garden store and bought some seeds and starting mix yesterday, so I'm ready. I'm going to try tomatoes and peppers from seed again this year. Usually don't have much luck with growing them from seed, but it is so much cheaper than buying plants. I have been doing lots of reading on it, so hopefully this will be my year. My Dad is trying tomatoes too, so we'll see if either of us have any luck. He actually asked ME for advice this year!

While I was out and about, I also finally stopped to my favorite sewing machine store and made the purchase I have been planning and researching for over 2 years-an embroidery machine!! It is a Janome MC350E. Has all the features to keep me happy for along time, but not so much that I am overwhelmed. I ordered a BIG set of thread and designs when I got home, so will be doing lots of playing with that soon. Watch for pictures.

Vacation?

Yep, that's right WE went on a vacation! We took the girls to Glacier Canyon/Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells for two whole days! We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe condo that was amazing! It had a full kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, three TV's and a fireplace. We had a great time, although I came home with whiplash from riding the waterslides! I'm Baaaack!!

I know it has been a long time since I posted, but life threw us a HUGE curveball this past summer when we lost my dear Mother-in-Law. She had been having a few medical problems and decided it was too much for her and didn't want to become a "burden" to anyone. It took me several months to come to terms with losing her and recently found out it wasn't depression I was suffering from, but a broken heart. This has greatly helped me recover. Anyway, things are better now and we had an awesome Christmas and great New Year and I am looking forward to 2010! One of my resolutions is to keep up with my blog and post at least once a month. I have lots of pictures to add to the slideshow at the bottom, so make sure you check that out soon. HAPPY 2010!

Teenage Daughter and Shopping-Lethal Mix (for my wallet anyway)

Well, it's official. My oldest daughter is now a teenager! Only 3 years til she gets her driver's license-YIKES! Unfortunately today she was not feeling well and I had to pick her up from school. I decided while I was in town to do a few quick errands. Amazingly she seemed to feel better or at least well enough to shop with me. It's funny how she has a tendency to buy name brand clothes, but when it is just her and me her thrifty genes show a little. I wanted to go the Hancock Fabrics for some patterns that were on sale and a few different materials for purses and a grill cover. She quickly found some patterns she liked and bought material to make a bag for her school sports stuff. Well between Hancock's, Dollar Tree and Menards we ended up with a truck full of supplies and plans to make lotsa goodies. Now to find the time!

My First Blog Post!

WOW!! I can't believe I actually have a BLOG of my own. This made me start thinking about how I got started with my love of computers! Seventeen years ago (NO, that doesn't make me old!!) when I was going to college I bought my first computer from a FURNITURE store. How funny! There was no internet yet, but thanks to Microsoft I had Solitaire! I already liked typing and Windows made working on a computer soooo much fun. It's amazing where things have gone since then. In 1996 I got internet after my first daughter was born and I was thinking of running a business from my home......& here I am the day before her thirteenth birthday posting to MY VERY OWN BLOG! As you may have guessed by the title "Sew little time" I love to sew (and do other crafts) but never have enough time. Hope you enjoy seeing the things I make and make sure to comment even if it is just to say "HI".
